June 2006

Okuma America Corporation, based in Charlotte, NC has selected local custom magazine producer Northbrook Publishing to launch a new quarterly publication. The title of the magazine will be THINC, named after Okuma’s revolutionary concept of intelligent numeric controls for its machines.

The magazine will make its debut in September of this year at the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) in Chicago, IL. THINC magazine will have an estimated 200,000 circulation with 32-pages of editorial content. A world leader in machine tool technology and manufacturing, Okuma America Corporation is the US based affiliate of Okuma Corporation of Nagoya, Japan.

Commenting on the recent appointment, Northbrook founder and President Pete Sobic said, “With their new intelligent numeric control system, Okuma is fundamentally changing the manufacturing environment in which their machines operate. We’re excited and challenged by the opportunity to help inform and educate end-users about the limitless applications of this technology.”

THINC magazine joins numerous other magazines in the Northbrook portfolio, which continues its strong growth in 2006. “This is the third new publication we’re launching this year, “ said Sobic. “It’s a testament to the talent, loyalty and dedication of our associates, and the outstanding work they produce.”
